Terms of Service

Last updated:

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Trellis Internet website at trellisinternet.com and any related online services we offer. Internet service itself is governed by a separate Internet Service Agreement. By using our website, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using trellisinternet.com (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Site. We may update these Terms from time to time; the date at the top of this page indicates the most recent revision.

2. Definitions

“Trellis,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Trellis Internet, a California-based internet service provider. “You” refers to anyone who accesses or uses the Site. “Service” refers to the internet service offered by Trellis under a separate Internet Service Agreement.

3. Use of the Website

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes. You will not:

  • Use automated tools (scrapers, crawlers, bots) to extract content or pricing data, except as permitted by our robots.txt file.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any non-public portion of the Site or to any system or network connected to the Site.
  • Interfere with the Site’s operation or other users’ access to it, including by uploading viruses or other malicious code.
  • Use the Site to send unsolicited commercial communications or to harvest contact information.
  • Misrepresent your identity, your relationship to Trellis, or the source of any data you submit.
  • Reverse-engineer, disassemble, or attempt to derive source code from the Site or any of its components.

4. Accounts and Eligibility

Some features of the Site require an account. You must be at least eighteen (18) years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.

The information you provide must be accurate, current, and complete. We may suspend or terminate accounts that contain false or misleading information.

5. Intellectual Property

The Site and all content, features, and functionality on it — including text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, video, and software — are owned by Trellis Internet or our licensors and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Site for your personal, non-commercial purposes and, if you are a customer or prospective customer, to purchase and manage Service. No other use is permitted without our prior written consent.

“Trellis,” “Trellis Internet,” and our logos are trademarks of Trellis Internet. You may not use them without our prior written permission.

6. Address Checker and Coverage Map

Our address checker and coverage map are provided for informational purposes only. A positive result indicates that Trellis believes service is generally available in your area, not that service can be successfully installed at your specific address. Final serviceability depends on factors that can only be determined by an on-site survey, including line-of-sight, terrain, and equipment placement.

We are not liable for any decision you make based on the address checker or coverage map. We do not guarantee accuracy and may revise coverage representations at any time.

7. Relationship to the Internet Service Agreement

If you sign up for Trellis Internet service, your use of the service is governed by a separate Internet Service Agreement. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the Internet Service Agreement, the Internet Service Agreement controls with respect to the Service itself; these Terms continue to control your use of the Site.

8. Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may contain links to websites and services operated by third parties. We provide these links for convenience and do not endorse the linked sites or services. Third-party sites are governed by their own terms and privacy policies; we are not responsible for their content, practices, or availability.

9. Disclaimers

THE SITE IS PROVIDED ON AN “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” BASIS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TRELLIS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted or error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Site or servers that make it available are free of viruses or other harmful components. You use the Site at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL TRELLIS, ITS AFFILIATES, OR THEIR RESPECTIVE DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE TO YOU FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SITE, REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL THEORY ON WHICH THE CLAIM IS BASED AND EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SITE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED UNITED STATES DOLLARS ($100). Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Trellis and its affiliates from any claim, loss, liability, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Site, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

13. Governing Law and Venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The exclusive venue for any dispute that proceeds in court (as opposed to arbitration or small-claims) is the state and federal courts located in Sonoma County, California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

14. Dispute Resolution

We want to resolve disputes quickly and informally. Before filing any claim, please contact us at the address in Section 16 and give us at least thirty (30) days to investigate and respond.

If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, either party may bring a claim in small claims court if the dispute qualifies, or otherwise in the courts identified in Section 13. Nothing in these Terms prevents you from filing a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission or the California Public Utilities Commission.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site for at least thirty (30) days. Continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the revised Terms.
